Race Day 2020 - PGT Postponed

On March 16th the government announced a ban on gatherings/events of more than 500 people due to COVID-19. With the Porirua Grand Traverse (PGT) less than three weeks away, we have been forced to postpone.
A timeline for the event ban has not been announced. When this becomes clear, we’ll need to work with Council, Whitireia, landowners and traffic management and our awesome volunteers to coordinate the new date.
As most people are aware, this event is a Charitable Trust but like any entity it must pay its expenses whether it goes ahead or not. As such we cannot offer refunds. As per the conditions of entry, in the event of “act-of-god” circumstances outside of the organisers control, your entry fee is non-refundable.
We must stress that the event is simply postponed (not cancelled). As soon as we can confirm race day, we will let you know. For updates see our Facebook page and the Latest News section below.
Thank you for your patience in these unique times, and for the myriad of emails and messages we’ve received in support of the event.
In the meantime, for definitive COVID-19 information and updates, consult the Ministry of Health website.

About Us

Established in 2006, the Porirua Grand Traverse is a non-profit community event organised locally by the Porirua Grand Traverse charitable trust. Our goals with this event have not changed since day one...

All Ages:   We're about participation for everyone from retirees to kids!

All Abilities:   Options for rookies to experienced endurance junkies!

All Amazing:   Showcasing Porirua's hills & harbour, bush & beaches!

The Porirua Grand Traverse benefits Porirua both altruistically and economically. As well as a fun day out, it promotes a healthy, outdoor lifestyle. Economically, it brings visitors to the City, uses local service providers, and provides donations to local community groups.
